2. What Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide you with the service:

• Name and email address — collected when you choose to receive your scripture free via email, or when you create a subscription account
• Quiz responses — your answers to the quiz questions, used only to generate your personalized scripture passage and reflection in the moment
• Payment information — if you subscribe, your payment details are collected and processed entirely by Paddle, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number
• Push notification data — if you opt in to daily scripture notifications, your browser provides an anonymous push subscription identifier so we can deliver them. You can turn this off at any time in your browser or device settings
• Basic usage data — standard web analytics (see Section 8) collected to help us improve the service

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as religious beliefs, health data, or government identification numbers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Delivering your scripture — your quiz responses are sent to our AI service to generate a personalized scripture passage and reflection for you
• Email communication — if you provide your email, we may send you your scripture, occasional devotional content, and service updates
• Push notifications — if you opt in, to send the daily scripture you requested
• Processing payments — subscription billing is managed by Paddle on our behalf
• Improving the service — usage data helps us understand how the quiz is used and make it better
• Legal compliance — we may use your information as required by applicable law

4. Quiz Responses and AI Processing

Your quiz answers are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate your personalized scripture passage and reflection. This processing happens in real time and your responses are not permanently stored by us after your result is generated.

Anthropic processes data in accordance with their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.

We do not use your quiz responses to build profiles, train AI models, or share with advertisers.

5. Email Communications

If you provide your email address, you may receive:

• Your personalized scripture and reflection
• Weekly devotional emails (subscribers only)
• Occasional promotional emails about our service
• Important service updates or changes

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. You cannot opt out of essential service communications such as billing receipts.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Paddle — our payment processor and merchant of record receives your billing information to process subscription payments and handles all payment data securely
• Anthropic — your quiz responses are processed by the Anthropic Claude API to generate your result. Only your quiz answers are shared, not your name or email
• Brevo — your name and email are stored with our email platform (Brevo) to send you the communications you have requested
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics are processed by Google Analytics (see Section 8)
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users

7. Data Retention

• Email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
• Quiz responses — not retained after your result is generated
• Payment records — retained as required by law and Paddle's terms
• Account data — retained while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation

8. Cookies, Storage, and Analytics

• Local and session storage — we use your browser's storage to remember your subscription status, language preference, reading streak, and any scriptures or journal notes you save. This data stays on your device. Saved scriptures and journal entries are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers
• Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and improve the service. It collects standard, aggregated usage data

We do not use advertising cookies or social media tracking pixels on this website.

9. Your Rights

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal data
• Unsubscribe — opt out of marketing emails at any time
• Portability — request your data in a portable format

Our website may contain links to third-party sites such as scripture publishers or devotional resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. International Users

Find Your Scripture is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the service, you consent to this transfer and processing.
